Veil Nebula Complex

The Veil Nebula is a remarkable supernova remnant, bearing witness to a colossal star that once dwarfed our Sun in mass. This star exploded between 10,000 and 20,000 years ago, and the remnants continue to expand at an astonishing rate of nearly 1,000,000 miles per hour. The Veil Nebula resides 2,400 light-years away from Earth within the Cygnus constellation. The image is a 4 panel mosaic, artfully presented in HOO (False Color) with almost 20 hours of exposure time.
